Christmas Photo Project Days 18 and 19
Yesterday, I joined in with many bloggers in a blogger day of silence out of respect for the families and friends of Newtown, CT.
That said, I am always creating, always looking for great photos and opportunities for wonderful shots.
I included two days’ worth of photos here to make up for the day I didn’t post. It’s a 31-day project, even if Christmas is next Tuesday (gasp – already!?)
Here is Day 18:
I love how this ornament seems to glitter. I did a little bit of post-processing on this photo – I blurred the image of my friend and I because I don’t want the focus to be on the people, but rather the shine and lights. Then I added a “monochrome colorize” effect.
I am seriously loving the monochromatic pictures – I might have to do a photo project next month that focuses on monochromatic photos. Hmm.
Here’s day 19:
I know I just said I’m l digging the monochrome colors, but I love this photo, too. The colors all complement each other, the bokeh turned out great and the glass isn’t blurry in its front-most spot, adding interest.
What do you think?

Looking Deeper

I’m a fan of monochrome, as well at the full color. Variety is the spice of life! The monochrome tends to bring a feeling of the vintage photos of the past, but with a hint of today with their clarity. Who can argue with full color as the brilliance is there. Just keep taking pictures. I don’t think anyone is complaining! : ) Great job!
I love them both and truly love to see what you get when you play around with the different shadings, such as monochrome, black/white, sepia and so on. Awesome Cyndi though, just awesome
I love them all! Did you see my post on Facebook? I am always looking for photos that aren’t of specific people but of beautiful objects. The dark space makes a great spot for text overlay. Seriously so happy that you are letting people use your photos. This is where I go first when I have an idea. I used your glittery ball ornament to represent my sphere post this morning.
I love these Christmas pictures, Cyndi! You have such a great eye and they are all beautiful.
Loved your pix, cyndi.
As usual, you have done a marvelous job in creating them.
Wow! The picture from day 18 is spectacular!!!
I wish Christmas was all year round just to see your pictures.
