A Star for Ben, a Snowman and a Christmas Project – Day 15
I want to dedicate this photo to the people of Newtown, CT.
Though this is for my photo project, I’m thinking that I hope that all the victims get to play with snow whenever they want and that wherever they are up there, they’re happy and that life’s struggles are all but forgotten.
I actually took this photo yesterday, after seeing a really good friend of mine. I hadn’t seen her since this summer and she’s such a wonderful person. Thanks, Trish!
Not only that, between recalling stories of our teaching careers and catching up on all the highlights of everything that’s happened in our lives in the last six months.
I was really glad she didn’t mind me taking photographs of trinkets around her house. She’s a really great decorator!
I will forever think of this photo and think of friendship and love. In the same vein, I want to extend that to lots of people in Newtown that need friendship and love right now.
I just can’t stop thinking about all this.
One of my writing groups, the Bloppy Bloggers is going to buy a star for Ben. Ben is the son of the music teacher at Sandy Hook elementary and a good friend of Amy Landisman - who is a phenomenal writer.
If you’re reading this blog and you’d like to help us purchase a star for him and use the remainder of the funds to give directly to the family, click on the picture and it will take you to Julie’s website where you can make a PayPal donation. These funds will help defray funeral costs.

xox. Snowman make me happy. In fact, in another life, I would have a house full of the roly poly snowman. I love them.
Cyndi, love the snowman picture partially, because I truly love snowman on just about anything this time of year. That said I love the meaning behind this one for you and how you used it to extend those same feelings to the citizens of Newton right now. Beautiful post
